This page explains what Lesson Video stores about you, why, and how to get it removed. Lesson Video is an app for ChatGPT that turns a conversation into a short narrated lesson, plus this website where you manage your lessons and plan.
What we store
- Your account. Your name, your email address and a hash of your password. We can't read your password.
- Your lessons. The lesson ChatGPT sends us (its title, scenes and narration text) and the narration audio we make from it.
- Your plan. Which plan you're on and how many lessons you've made this period, so we can apply the limits.
- Payments. If you subscribe to Pro, Stripe handles the payment. We get your subscription status from Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
What we don't get
We don't get your ChatGPT conversation. Lessons are made by ChatGPT through our app's tools: the model decides what to send, and we receive only that. A lesson usually reflects what you talked about, so it can contain details from your conversation. Don't ask for lessons about things you want to keep private.
Where it's kept
Account data and lessons are stored on Cloudflare (its D1 database and R2 file storage). Cloudflare also runs the website and processes request details such as your IP address to deliver pages.
A lesson's page can be opened by anyone who has its link. The links are long and random, but treat a lesson link like a shared document.
Who else handles it
- Cloudflare hosts the service and stores your data.
- Stripe processes payments if you subscribe.
- OpenAI runs ChatGPT. Your conversations there are covered by OpenAI's own privacy policy.
How long we keep it
We keep your lessons until you delete them, and your account until you delete it. Deleting your account removes your lessons and their narration audio. Stripe keeps its own payment records as the law requires.
Your choices
- Download everything we hold about you from Settings → Export my data.
- Delete single lessons from Your lessons, or your whole account from Settings.
- Disconnect ChatGPT in Settings.
- Write to lessons@onmax.me to correct something or ask a question.
If you live in the EU or the UK, you have the right to access, correct, delete and move your data, and to complain to your data protection authority.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. For changes that affect how we use your data, we'll email you first.
Who is responsible for your data
Lesson Video is run by Max García, who decides how your data is used (the data controller).
